About Dr. Suresh Kattera

Dr. Suresh Kattera is an internationally acclaimed IVF pioneer with over three decades of pioneering work across Singapore, USA, UK, Belgium, and Italy. As the founding mentor and director of ASPIER, he has played a transformative role in advancing embryology education and clinical practice in India and beyond.

He is widely recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to IVF, consistently pushing the boundaries of research, innovation, and real-world application. His mentorship continues to shape the future of assisted reproductive technology globally.

• 2001: Early advocate of short coincubation in IVF – Journal of Fertility & Sterility
• 2003: World’s first live birth following microsurgical enucleation of tri-pronuclear zygotes – Journal of Human Reproduction
• 2003: World First reported births from early rescue ICSI of IVF-failed oocytes – Journal of Human Reproduction
• 2005: Discovery of 4 types of pronuclear zygote arrangements that predict implantation – Journal of Human Reproduction
• 2005: Reported that frozen embryos have better implantation potential than fresh ones – Pioneered the now-standard “Freeze-All” strategy-Journal of Fertility & Sterility
• 2009: Developed the SEPD device for semen processing without lab facilities – adopted globally
• 2011: Part of the first ovarian tissue transplant team in Singapore and possibly in Asia
• Developed:
o First non-centrifugation sperm separation method (2006)
o Vitpen – a low-cost vitrification device (2016)
