Prathima is a passionate educator and academic with a strong background in biotechnology and reproductive science. She holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Mangalore University and currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Asia Pacific Institute of Embryology (ASPIER), Mysore.
Teaching Areas
Ms. Prathima leads instruction in Cell and Molecular Biology, helping students understand the genetic and cellular mechanisms that underlie human reproduction and embryo development. Her teaching emphasizes the molecular basis of ART and the integration of biotechnology with clinical embryology.
She also conducts practical training sessions in Andrology, covering:
• Comprehensive semen analysis techniques
• Semen preparation and processing using various methodologies
• Cryopreservation of semen samples (sperm freezing and thawing)
• Sperm DNA fragmentation assessment and interpretation
In addition to her subject specializations, she assists students in hands-on training for:
• Conventional In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) techniques
• Oocyte & blastocyst vitrification and warming protocols
Academic Support & Student Engagement
Prathima is actively involved in student assessments, skill validations, and academic evaluations. She ensures each student meets the rigorous practical standards expected at ASPIER, maintaining the institute’s commitment to producing industry-ready clinical embryologists.
